What I wouldn't give for a MMO based on the Battletech IP. *sniffles*
You are in the closed beta already?
I don't need a beta client to say it looks like your typical eastblock degenerate crap.
Generally you do need to play a game to comment on how the game plays... _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Reading a bit of the back story, think Hasbro has grounds to sue as well?

I almost didn't download the client when the first line of the text said "The file is guaranteed to be free from viruses." and I even ran my own virus program on it before running it and it came up clean. Guess its time to change all the passwords from another computer followed by a hd wipe and reinstall of windows.. Bugger, it seemed like a legit site but I guess thats the hallmark of a successful scam. This is how people get hacked without buying isk if any of the cva haters are reading this thread.
Meh. If suddenly i start spamming keylogg links you can assume it was deadly. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Originally by: Dannerkongen anyways i fail to see the reason why so many get stuck on the similarities when the main dif between eve and this mech game is kinda ****ign huge! i mean one is a spaceshipgame in space the other is a robotgame on a planet! anyways! u geeks should be much more interested in stuff like jumpgate evo and black prophecy
Why would Eve players be interested in Sharded crap with little PvP?

explain! what u mean little pvp? coz im pretty sure ur not in beta of any of these games plus as far as i can see these games offer much more pvp than eve plus its way more arcade.
plus graphics is ten times nicer and i dotn wanna waste tiem googling sharded so im guessing its soemthing up ur ass.
also im an eve player too and u clrly didnt speak for me but i guess u where too dumb to realize that.
but go ahead! define soem more "eve players pls"
First off, get a dictionary. For crying out loud.
Secondly, Sharded means having more than one server (Like WoW) Whereas Eve is a persistant single universe. No Shards.
Both of the MMO's that you linked (And i use that term lightly they are closer to vapourware than anything else) are going to be (heavily) Sharded according to the information the developers have provided. Meaning the happenings on one server are completely split off from the next, and the next, and the next....
Going by the tidbits of information given to us, Black Prophecy and Jumpgate Evolution are going to have nowhere near the amount of risk as eve. Meaning no thrill. They're going to be soft on the players (One more liken to WoW)
If Eve players wanted WoW in space Eve players would not be playing Eve. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Originally by: Dionisius Hmm judging by the responses in here we can safely assume that most of the eve players are ripoffs of one another... or you haven't played any other mmo out there.
To say that WoW has clones when there were mmo's pior to WoW with concepts that WoW took in.. or better riped off from other games stories and concepts... lol
Just because EvE has mining and capacitors and cpu usage tracking and this kind of details does it mean that Perpetuum is a clone? Perhaps if you looked at Mechwarrior were tracking speeds, angles of fire, etc etc.. oh wait ripoff! Perpetuum is a ripoff of Mechawarrior.. oh wait that makes EvE a ripoff... oh wait..
You people are really.. ugh.
Kudos to this guys for bringing something to the market, it isn't exactly new and revolutionary but damn better than what the majority has present the gaming comunities with.
We;re not talking about the statistics (Though if you look at it, almost everything is the same in the fitting screen stat wise). "HIghslots, lowslots midslots" the Layout of the UI, minus the sidebar now being a topbar in Perpetuum, The market UI, Hangar UIs... The Chat...
Linkie
also note the placeholders for the "Slots". Eight of Each... _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Well there's another thing EVE doesn't do: the turret beam graphics actually show misses.
Yes, because in eve you aim manually don't you?. Christ i hope you realise the flaw in your logic soon. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008
